Grey Whales

Grey Whales are regular visitors to Haro Strait, the research area of project Orca Survey. Usually in the spring, when they migrate from Baja California up to Alaska.
But occasionally an animal shows up during the summer. This particular Grey Whale was sighted off the Center for Whale Research on July 4, 2000.
The survival chances for these solitary summer visitors are pretty slim. Most of them are never encountered again.
